Hi, I’m Kartik: the person behind LetsBookStays.

For the past 2 years, I’ve been reviewing hotels, resorts, homestays, hostels, and Airbnbs in the Indian hospitality space— both in person and virtually — on my YouTube channel TREK TALKS, on top of hands-on experience in the hospitality industry itself. Along the way, I built a real, on-the-ground understanding of how properties actually operate: how pricing works, how hotels position themselves versus what they actually deliver, and what genuinely separates a good stay from clever marketing — across everything from budget hostels to five-star resorts. That combination is what this site is built on: real, on-the-ground knowledge of how hotels actually operate — plus firsthand experience of staying in and reviewing all kinds of properties.
Reviewing for Indian travelers taught me something else, too: how much value there is in a reviewer who’s actually stayed somewhere and will tell you the truth about it — not a paid write-up, not a star rating with no substance behind it. Indian tourists have that. When I started looking at how International travelers were being served, I noticed the need of offering same level of honest, detailed, on-the-ground reviewing should be served to them in a curated, friendly yet in depth-informative way backed by detailed reviewing. That gap is what LetsBookStays is built to close — bringing the same depth of experience I built in India to hotels, resorts, and stays across the UK and USA.
I started LetsBookStays because most hotel reviews online fall into two camps: paid fluff dressed up as opinion, or a star rating with no real substance behind it. I wanted to write the kind of review I’d actually want to read before booking — one that gives you the real price range, tells you honestly whether the location works for what you’re planning, describes the food and rooms plainly, and answers the exact questions you’re Googling before you book.
What I actually do here
I’ve personally stayed at and reviewed 50 hotels so far across the UK and USA — and that number keeps growing every month, alongside the reviews on my YouTube channel. Every review on this site covers:
- Real pricing — what you’ll actually pay, not a “from £X” teaser
- Location, honestly assessed — walkability, what’s nearby, what to skip
- Room and food quality, described plainly
- A straight answer to “is it worth it”
- FAQs pulled from what people actually search before booking
I also keep an eye on where the hospitality industry itself is heading — from how homestays and Airbnbs are reshaping traveler expectations, to how traditional hotels are adapting — so the advice here reflects where travel is going, not just where it’s been.
A note on how this site makes money
LetsBookStays earns a small commission if you book through some of the links on this site, at no extra cost to you. It never changes what I write — if a property isn’t worth the price, I’ll say so. Full details are in our Affiliate Disclosure.
